Professor Imran Rahman


Imran Rahman is a Professor of Finance and the Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). During his eleven years at ULAB, he has held the positions of Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of Business. Prior to that, he taught finance at IBA, Dhaka University for 23 years. At IBA, he also served as the Chairman of the BBA Programme and Chairman of the Computer Centre.

He ran a merchant bank in Dhaka from 1994 to 2000, during which time he was a consultant to ADB’s Capital Market Development Project and was involved in many financial consultancy/advisory engagements for local and international companies. He was a member of the Task Force that set up the South Asian University, Delhi. He sits on the board of National Housing Finance & Investment Ltd as an independent director. He has studied at the London School of Economics, IBA, and Manchester Business School.
